It Started with a Stack of Business Cards.
Before PoliTraQ was a platform, it was a problem.
As a government relations analyst, my job was to find the signal in the noise across three levels of government. But my days were spent in the weeds of manual tracking, buried in spreadsheets and administrative tasks. The strategic work—the reason I got into GR in the first place—was always competing for my time.
"The breaking point came when a new director asked for a quantitative report on our team's recent advocacy meetings. The response from one manager? He handed me a stack of business cards with dates scribbled on the back.
In that moment, I knew there had to be a better way. No one gets into this field to be an administrator. We get into it to build relationships, shape policy, and make an impact. The industry deserved a tool that treated our work with the seriousness it deserved.
A New Approach for a Unique Profession
The government relations sector has been slow to adopt new technologies. The problem wasn't that existing tools were failing us; it was that we didn't have any tools at all.
Drawing on my past experience as a political staffer and in sales, I knew the principles of a CRM could be adapted for our world—if it was designed with the flexibility to account for the unique realities of GR practice. So, I started building what would eventually become PoliTraQ, focusing on one simple goal: to spend less time on low-return tasks and more time on the strategic work that matters.
